Howard Meterman was a private in the army in 1945 when his unit attacked a secret Nazi test site. In the struggle, he got jabbed in the ass with a needle containing a completed, but not tested super soldier serum. The lab and all information about the experiments were destroyed, and Howard found he had amazing abilities. Since he was the first of his kind, he dubbed himself Hero One, and went on to decades long, successful yet ego driven career. He battled such foes as The Fung, Dr. Catatonia, and his arch nemesis, Teslak. He also fought along our armed forces in the Korean and Vietnam wars. In 1982 he was forced into retirement after a much publicized propane/hot dog vender accident (to this day, he can't even look at a Oscar Meyer product). Today, he lives at the Heavenly Palms retirement condos, still doing battle with his arch nemesis Teslak. Only now it is on the shuffleboard court and butting heads as members of the condo association.

The BaguetteTeer, cleaning up the streets of Paris with week old bread. I decided to just make some guy up. I wanted to make a hero that's job was stolen by a department store or something like that, but I settled on making a french dude.

AKA... Goldar (in the US), is a giant alien robot that can turn into a rocket ship. It's a manga and TV series in the 60's. Of course there's a boy that can call Golder to fight evil monsters like most of those old rubber suit monster shows. One cool thing about Goldar... his belly can open up and fire missles. :)

So for missing last month, I made sure to get this one done by actually doing it! Here is my retired superhero: Spaceman Spiff.

I tried to get it to look like an authentic Bill Watterson drawing but he's just too good. That and you just can't replicate natural media in photoshop but, hey, it's worth a try.

Blog Art Jam Theme - November

Hey guys, since Peter was a lazy ass to not do a drawing last month he said I could choose the theme that he was supposed to. Alright so this time around I had the idea of "Obscure Retired Superheros". So no actual mainstream superheros (superman, batman, etc.) Peter came up with a good one, Quail Man's grandpa. Too Much Coffee Man would be acceptable too (think along those lines).

I guess it will be a month long too? Matt? I guess if Matt doesn't say anything then it'll be due by November 30th. Have fun!

P.S. I forgot to mention that you can make something up too if you wanted (which I'm doing, haha). So far so awesome!

Better late than never right?? Right!!?? Man, I am soo having an artist block these last few months... it is really becoming a problem. I'm hoping this blog will help motivate me a little to get some stuff done. I didn't take this piece as far as I would have liked, but I really wanted to put something up this weekend.

Art Jam time!

A few buddies got together, and made a blog. And it was good. They called it Blog Art Jam. And it was good. Enjoy the art of some of today's most beleaguered and oppressed digital artists in the gaming industry. This months first Art jam theme as per Russ' request: Movie Monsters. Our 'deadline' for this theme is Oct 31 (ironic ain't it). It'll be interesting what our merry band of painters will come up with.
